"As Only As I Could"

I forgot what happiness truly was until the day you said I love you.
I knew of the truth, compassion, and passion we had, and you knew it too.
You lifted the heaviest of burdens when you sought me out with those eyes of blue.
And I knew from that moment on that I would do whatever you needed me to do.

You found me empty and lonely and like the morning sun you brightened my life.
You took away all the pain my darling and you removed a lifetime of strife.
And although there are still days that cut through me like the sharpest knife,
Know that you're being in love with me will forever keep my once shattered heart alive.

I'm so amazed by the bountiful joy of being together being so utterly profound,
that I lose myself in your words echoing within me with the most delicious of sounds.
And if you go to a place that exceeds far beyond my current bounds,
Know that I'll seek you out with loving actions like none you'd ever found.

You see my darling I love you in a way that could never be misunderstood,
I've always sought to show you my love exactly like I said I would.
Yes, I'm here to hold you close and tight as only lovers should,
and give to you the truest form of love in a way that only I could.
