The Beginning:

When I met you , I knew I wanted us to be friends
...friends for a lifetime and perhaps more.
As we began to spend time together I wanted
more...more in a relationship than I had known in
a long long time. Yet friendship, as well, was
always on my mind. I knew hurting you by
smothering your freedom would only bring me
the deepest of pain; yet losing sight of you would
be at least the same.


The Question:

I desire, if you desire it too, to hold you with my
arms, yet not questioning the freedom of you to be who
or where you are. Being with you is a permanent thought
etched into a memory that is the apex of all my thoughts.
Those thoughts drive me close to you even when you are
not close by. You make my hands long with anticipation
of holding yours in mine.

The Answer:

But if is not your desire to walk the same path as I,
then be my friend and I'll be yours, for love taken and
not given is a time bomb within my heart that I can and
will defuse if your intentions are not the same as mine.

But if you desire to share love...then be with me, know
my heart, understand my desires, as I will yours,
and take your time... for this journey will last forever.
